Once everyone arrived at the evacuation site, they were informed of the chemicals
involved in the fire. At that time – distant in time and varying greatly in their initial
proximity to the event - several people began complaining of chest tightness, nausea
and dizziness.
Thirty minutes after the “All Clear” was given by the fire department, the county disaster plan
was activated because these 100 individuals at the airport terminal were complaining or wanted
to be checked to make sure they were OK.
