TRANSPORT OF DANGEROUS GOODS AND RISK MANAGEMENT 211NOTION AND DANGEROUS GOODS DIVISIONNotion Dangerous Goods means products in which because of the nature of their composition or because of theirproperties, during their storage, transport, loading, unloading and similar manipulation may happen to get to eventsthat are dangerous and harmful for the environment. To ensure the safe transportation and manipulation of theseloads, they must be packaged, stored and transported under special conditions. Some of the hazardous substancesare so uncertain for the safe transport, that the carriers do not receive them for transport, but the producers or userstransport them themselves.The division of dangerous goods is carried out in accordance with international regulations governing their use,transportation and storage. Depending on the properties and characteristics, all hazardous materials, according to theEuropean agreement on international road transport of dangerous goods (ADR) are classified into nine classes [1].Otherwise, hazardous materials include materials and objects that can be finished products, semi-finished,intermediate, product, raw materials or waste, and have characteristics of hazardous substances, so that duringtransportation they can lead to the endangerment of human life and health and environmental pollution.DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE IN MILITARY TRANSPORTBy the Military vehicles, for the needs of SA, among dangerous substances the most often are transportedammunition and mines and explosive devices Class 1 and flammable liquids 3rd Class. In addition to these loadsweapons are often transported and, which also requires special conditions during transport.Ammunition: For the transportation of ammunition and other dangerous cargo, it is necessary to take appropriateprecautions in order not to endanger the safety of those who come into contact with them and to preserve the cargofrom damage. In order to preserve the quality of the ammunition and secure its use, it is packed in suitable and therequired packaging, which should ensure its safe transport, storage and easy handling.Explosives: Explosives are materials, individual compounds or mixtures of several compounds, which, driven by animpulse (stroke, dry heating), immediately chemically decay thereby creating a large amount of gas with the releaseof large amounts of heat. That immediate decomposition of explosives, which results in a sudden increase inpressure, with the occurrence of detonation is called the explosion [2]. According to the chemical composition andproperties the explosives are divided into: Deflagrantne gunshot or explosives (gunpowder) Brizantne explosives Security and explosives Initial explosives or detonators.Explosives are packed in containers of different shapes. Material for production of packaging must be completelyinactive in relation to explosives, not to have a reaction that would have evolved gases and the increase of pressureled to the explosion [2].Weapons: The Directive on the transport personnel weapons and military equipment defines the provisionsgoverning the transport of weapons in a military transport. Transportation can be realized with special or standardcargo vehicles, depending on the type of weapons [2].All types of missiles and their launching devices, and guidance, bombs, mines, ammunition and all kinds ofexplosives, gunpowder and the means of ignition, travel with armed escorts. Sender load is required to ensure theirfollowers and to bring an act which prescribes procedures and specific measures for the followers during theweapons transport [2].
