TO show quantity, we can use the following words.<br />

banyak<br />

sedikit<br />

jumlah .<br />

Banyuk and sedikit<br />

To say 'many, much, a lot', use banyak. This word can be used for<br />

things that are countable, such as people and books, as well as for<br />

things that are not countable, such as water and sugar.<br />

Banyak orang datang ke rapat itu.<br />

Many people came to that meeting. .<br />

Tolong beri banvak sambal ya.<br />

Please give a lot of sambal (chilli paste).<br />

To say 'a little' or 'fewJ, use sedikit. Like banyak, we can use this word<br />

both for countable and uncountable things.<br />

Saya suka minum teh dengan sedikit gula<br />

I like drinking tea with a little sugar:<br />

Murid di kelas fni hanya sedikit.<br />

The students in this class are few.<br />

Beberupa<br />

To say 'a few, a number of, use beberapa.<br />

Beberapa pekerja dipecat kavena ketahuan mencuri uang.<br />

A number of workers were fired because they were caught stealing money.<br />

Kurang lebih<br />

Kurang lebih literally means 'less, more' and is used to say<br />

'approximately'.<br />

Panjang meja ini kuran~ lebih satu setengah meter.<br />

The length of this table is appmxirnately one and a half metres.<br />

jumlah<br />

Jurnlah means 'total, the total number of.<br />

jumIah wartawan yang ke sana dua puluh orang.<br />

The total number of journalists who went there was twenty.<br />
