As a result of increasing pressure of competition in<br />
Thuringia, there will be an enormous need for qualified<br />
skilled workers in the region in the next few years. The aim<br />
however cannot be to meet the staff requirements just so,<br />
but rather to teach small and medium-size businesses the<br />
strategies needed in order to find good employees and integrate<br />
them into their companies on a lasting basis. So far,<br />
not all employers have realized that (highly) qualified skilled<br />
workers, experts and experienced staff represent the capital<br />
of a business, which cannot easily be exchanged or replaced.<br />
We are creating in our regional SMBs an awareness of<br />
human-resource development problems, while at the same<br />
time showing what solution strategies are available. As a<br />
result, we are improving human-resource development<br />
methodology on a sustainable basis and showing the need<br />
for ongoing high-quality initial and further training programmes.<br />

II. Solution approach<br />
We are developing human-resource development strategies<br />
and placing them at employers’ disposal. The aim is to create<br />
an awareness in companies for the potential and qualification<br />
needs of their employees.<br />
We seek to place a methodological tool-box at SMBs’ disposal.<br />
• We are setting up an internet platform for the rapid and<br />
uncomplicated procurement of experts for everyday<br />
work: training, coaching, instruction.<br />
• At the same time, the platform serves to promote an<br />
exchange of skilled people within the regional economy,<br />
so that inter-company co-operation can develop.<br />
• Large companies can be involved as “godparents”.<br />
Our Human-Resource Service Centre also works in the<br />
spheres of management consultancy (employment law, conflict<br />
resolution), human-resource development (initial and<br />
further training, managerial training) and qualitative personnel<br />
work (staff assessment and allocation).
