I. Problem
The border region between Germany, Poland and the Czech
Republic has at its disposal interesting, regionally specific
and above all cross-border teaching and learning materials
with a broad spectrum of subjects: introduction to the history,
culture, politics and economy of Poland and the Czech
Republic, the teaching of intercultural skills, language
courses etc. These materials and educational services have
until now however hardly been accessible to a broad public.
Readiness to take part in further training or education in the
intercultural sphere, whether for professional or private
purposes, has accordingly not been very great.
II. Solution approach
Under the address www.bildungsmarkt-neisse.de the new
education portal in the Euroregion Neisse-Nysa-Nisa in the
German-Czech-Polish triangle will be available from 1
November 2004.
This education portal will present, for the first time in
the Euroregion, existing educational services consolidated
and presented in an easy-to-understand form. The innovative
concept of the education portal is based on the linking
of two data-bases (the regional educational database and
“lecturers’ pool for active and creative forms of learning”)
with an eLearning platform (with integrated authors’ tool).
In the educational database of www.bildungsmarkt-neisse.de
the profiles of regional education providers and there courses
are listed in detail. There are a number of search functions
(e.g. full-text search, search for location, time, provider etc.)
enabling users to find suitable educational services very
quickly, broken down into the categories school, job and
leisure. A bulletin board additionally allows seekers to send
us requests for services not covered by the database.
In order to be able to offer a broad spectrum of services,
we have also created links to further supra-regional educational
databases such as “Bildungsmarkt Sachsen” (Saxony
Education Market)
The site’s user-friendliness has attracted new target-groups
and as a consequence eased access to vocational and nonvocational
education in the region.
III. Outlook
Long-term, we shall ensure the financing of www.bildungsmarkt-neisse.de
by placement fees from providers and user
fees from users, and also by the production and sale of
eLearning modules.
It is also intended to present www.bildungsmarktneisse.de
in Polish and Czech, in order thereby to enable
providers and users from the Polish and Czech border
regions to access the site.
