This indicator provides information on the level <strong>of</strong> development activity within a local government area.<br />

Ku-ring-gai determined 1,992 Development Applications in 2004/2005.<br />

Number <strong>of</strong> Development Applications (DAs) determined<br />

Neighbouring <strong>Council</strong>s<br />

Of the Group 3 <strong>Council</strong>s Ku-ring-gai was second behind Blacktown <strong>Council</strong> which determined the highest number <strong>of</strong> Applications in 2004/2005 (3,690). Ku-ringgai<br />

also determined the second highest number <strong>of</strong> Development Applications when compared with neighbouring <strong>Council</strong>s, behind Hornsby.<br />

The Group 3 <strong>Council</strong>s average was 1,663 and neighbouring <strong>Council</strong>s average was 1,390 DAs.<br />

The total number <strong>of</strong> DAs processed in NSW in 2003/2004 was 119,092, an average <strong>of</strong> 789 per <strong>Council</strong> a decrease <strong>of</strong> 9.5% when compared to the previous year<br />

2003/2004. This is a substantial difference when compared to Ku-ring-gai’s 1,992.<br />
