This indicator measures the amount spent on environmental management and health per head of population. Ku-ring-gai at $10.33 is below the Group 3 Councils
average of $13.47, and is lower than the neighbouring Councils average of $22.20. Blacktown’s average of $6.76 spent per resident was the lowest of the Group 3
Councils, while Warringah was the highest at $27.50. Within the neighbouring Councils North Sydney recorded the highest amount at $40.00 while Ryde spent the
least amount at $7.24.
The majority of NSW Councils have an average expense between $15 and $30 per resident for environmental management and health. Of all NSW Councils, $233
(Brewarrina) was the highest amount spent per resident and $2.58 (Albury) was the lowest.
Factors influencing this indicator are the number of environmental management and health staff, the population mix, the land usage mix and socioeconomic factors.
