This indicator measures the amount spent on environmental management and health per head <strong>of</strong> population. Ku-ring-gai at $10.33 is below the Group 3 <strong>Council</strong>s<br />

average <strong>of</strong> $13.47, and is lower than the neighbouring <strong>Council</strong>s average <strong>of</strong> $22.20. Blacktown’s average <strong>of</strong> $6.76 spent per resident was the lowest <strong>of</strong> the Group 3<br />

<strong>Council</strong>s, while Warringah was the highest at $<strong>27</strong>.50. Within the neighbouring <strong>Council</strong>s North Sydney recorded the highest amount at $40.00 while Ryde spent the<br />

least amount at $7.24.<br />

The majority <strong>of</strong> NSW <strong>Council</strong>s have an average expense between $15 and $30 per resident for environmental management and health. Of all NSW <strong>Council</strong>s, $233<br />

(Brewarrina) was the highest amount spent per resident and $2.58 (Albury) was the lowest.<br />

Factors influencing this indicator are the number <strong>of</strong> environmental management and health staff, the population mix, the land usage mix and socioeconomic factors.<br />
