Assessment Act 1979.<br />

Additionally, energyAustralia has confirmed that they will obtain all necessary approvals from the<br />

RTA and NSW Police to address operational site access/exit and traffic flow procedures.<br />

CONSULTATION<br />

The Suakin Street depot site is classified as Operational land and as such no public notification <strong>of</strong><br />

the proposed lease is required. <strong>Council</strong>’s solicitor’s Matthews Folbigg Pty Ltd will prepare the<br />

lease documentation.<br />

CONSULTATION WITH OTHER COUNCIL DEPARTMENTS<br />

Consultation has taken place between Technical Services and Finance and Business on this matter.<br />

SUMMARY<br />

energyAustralia is proposing to undertake repair works to the suspended concrete roadway which<br />

forms part <strong>of</strong> the adjoining substation and requires a short term lease over the depot site near the<br />

upgrading works for the storage <strong>of</strong> sheds, containers, skips and for parking. No construction type<br />

activities would be undertaken on the land and no hazardous materials would be utilised on the site.<br />

The proposed lease period is not expected to exceed four (4) months, however, in the event <strong>of</strong><br />

unforeseen delays an additional month to month option is to be provided for in the lease.<br />

It is recommended that <strong>Council</strong> approve a four (4) month lease to energyAustralia over a portion <strong>of</strong><br />

the Suakin Street depot site. The lease is to include monthly options.<br />
