'6//LQH0RGXOHVReplacement of any DSL line module--SDSL, ADSL (G.dmt orG.lite), or T1--is service-affecting to the ports served by thatmodule. Except in cases of emergency (system down), we recommendthat you replace any modules during a scheduledmaintenance period at off-peak hours. Unlike the other modules,however, you can reliably replace DSL line modules withoutpowering down the CE<strong>150</strong>.1 2 7 (Be<strong>for</strong>e you remove a module that will not be replaced by anothermodule of the same type, change the netmodel to None <strong>for</strong> all VCs,ports, and IMUX bundles associated with that module.To replace a DSL line module:1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the two screwssecuring the module to be replaced.2. Lift the module extraction levers to gently separate themodule from its connector inside the CE<strong>150</strong>.When the module is free, remove it from the CE<strong>150</strong> andtransfer it to a suitable anti-static container.3. Remove the new module from its anti-static bag, andinsert it into the empty slot in the CE<strong>150</strong>.4. Gently but firmly seat the module into its connectorinside the CE<strong>150</strong>.If the module does not readily mate to the connector,do not <strong>for</strong>ce it; back the module out and try again.5. When the module is seated in the connector, ensurethat the extraction levers are lying flat (moduleinsertedposition), and use your fingers to screw in thetwo retainer screws.Finger tighten only; do not over-torque.6. After the new DSL module has been installed, you mustreconfigure the data rate of each DSL port asappropriate; connected CPEs will follow the rate of theDSL interface. For example:CRAFT> set hdslmodem [1.4.1] datarate=416$&RU'&3RZHU0RGXOHVReplacing an AC or DC Power module is service-affecting, withconsequent interruption of service <strong>for</strong> all subscribers served bythis CE<strong>150</strong>.
