In most cases,the routes to connected networks that are followed byoutgoing message packets are automatically defined bythe IP addresses and subnet masks of the interfaces.For any messages that do not have an assignedrouting, the default IP route (specified as 0.0.0.0)establishes the “next hop” address. This default routeis mapped to its next hop through the port on theCE150 used for “upstream” packet-basedcommunication. Typically this will be one of the WANports, but could be the Ethernet port, if that interfaceis used for network access. For example:CRAFT> set iproute[0.0.0.0] nexthop=192.176.1.88where: 192.176.1.88 is the IP address of the routerinterface to which packets for unknown destinationsare routed. The mask of the default route is always0.0.0.0. If no default route is configured, packetsaddressed to unknown destinations are discarded.7. Configure other entries in the IpRoute table asnecessary.8. For distant destinations, you may need to insertadditional routing-table entries. In fact, any other IPRoute information, beyond the default, must beconfigured as static routes, as there is no provision fordynamic route assignment in the CE150. If additionalroutes are needed, add them to the ipRoute table asdescribed in the previous section.9.
