Except in cases of emergency (system down), we recommendthat you replace any modules during a scheduledmaintenance period at off-peak hours. Unlike the other modules,however, you can reliably replace DSL line modules withoutpowering down the CE150.1 2 7 (Before you remove a module that will not be replaced by anothermodule of the same type, change the netmodel to None for all VCs,ports, and IMUX bundles associated with that module.To replace a DSL line module:1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the two screwssecuring the module to be replaced.2. Lift the module extraction levers to gently separate themodule from its connector inside the CE150.When the module is free, remove it from the CE150 andtransfer it to a suitable anti-static container.3. Remove the new module from its anti-static bag, andinsert it into the empty slot in the CE150.4. Gently but firmly seat the module into its connectorinside the CE150.If the module does not readily mate to the connector,do not force it; back the module out and try again.5. When the module is seated in the connector, ensurethat the extraction levers are lying flat (moduleinsertedposition), and use your fingers to screw in thetwo retainer screws.Finger tighten only; do not over-torque.6. After the new DSL module has been installed, you mustreconfigure the data rate of each DSL port asappropriate; connected CPEs will follow the rate of theDSL interface.
