Policy-to-Ethernet IP RoutingYou can configure DSL interfaces for policy IP routing to theCE150’s Ethernet port. To do so, set the NetModel, IpAddr, Net-Mask, Encapsulation, DestPii, and farEndAddr objects in theDSL port’s cmIface entry. You must set the DestPii to a CE150Ethernet port, usually 1.3.1. You must also set the DSL port’sfarEndAddr object to the next hop IP address on the Ethernetsubnet to receive the forwarded packets. Each DSL port canspecify a different farEndAddr on the same Ethernet interface.In this forwarding mode, the CE150 forwards inbound DSLpackets that are not addressed to the DSL’s own IP address, tothe specified Ethernet port and next hop IP address. For policyrouting, the CE150 does not consult any routing table to forwardreceived packets. It provides detailsof how to configure the VWAN functions of the CE150.VWAN is the simplest mode to configure for DSL interfaces. Todo so, set the NetModel, Encapsulation, and DestPii. You mustspecify a WAN VC or an Ethernet port for the DestPii. If only oneDSL port refers to a given WAN VC, both interfaces are in VWANpoint-to-point mode. If two or more DSL ports refer to the sameWAN VC, all the interfaces in the VWAN group are in VWANbridge mode. The CE150 automatically selects the FwdModebased on the given configuration. It providesdetails of how to configure the Cross-Connect functions ofthe CE150.Ethernet interfaces don’t support the Cross-Connect netmodel.WAN VCs do not need to be configured for Cross-Connect modebecause they assume Cross-Connect mode automatically whenreferenced by DSL ports.VC to VC Frame ForwardingIn this mode, the CE150 treats the physical DSL interface as aFrame Relay interface. To configure this mode, set the DSLport’s NetModel, and set Encapsulation=Q922. For each VC onthe DSL interface, configure a cmSubIface entry with the DSLVC’s PII, and set the cmSubIface DestPii to the WAN VC towhich the DSL VC is Cross-Connected. For example:CRAFT> set cmiface[1.4.1] netmodel=cross-connectencapsulationtype=q922CRAFT> set cmsubiface[1.4.1.40] destpii=1.2.1.61HDLC to VC Frame ForwardingIn this mode, the CE150 forwards HDLC frame payloads intoWAN VC payloads. To configure this mode, set the DSL port’sNetModel, Encapsulation=HDLC, and DestPii. You must specifya WAN VC as the DestPii.
