,31HWPRGHOThis section assumes you are familiar with the networking conceptsof IP, and the CE150’s IP capabilities. It provides detailsof how to configure the IP functions of the CE150. The IP netmodelis supported on DSL ports, Ethernet ports, and WAN VCinterfaces.Full IP RoutingDSL and Ethernet interfacesThe CE150 treats DSL interfaces the same as Ethernet interfaces, because in IP netmodel, the DSL link acts as a long cable tothe CPE's Ethernet interface. The CE150 requires you to configureIP subnets on DSL and Ethernet interfaces. You mustspecify the NetModel, IpAddr, NetMask, and Encapsulation objects. For example:CRAFT> craft> set cmiface[1.4.1] netmodel=ip ipaddr=10.0.0.1netmask=255.0.0.0 encapsulationtype=rfc1483WAN VC interfacesThe CE150 treats WAN VCs as unnumbered IP point-to-pointlinks. Unnumbered links have no subnet on them, and eachend may have an IP address. You can assign addresses to eitherend of the VC, both ends, or neither end. To assign an IP addressto the CE150’s end of the VC, set the IpAddr object. TheNetMask is ignored for WAN VCs, because there is no subnetassociated with a WAN VC. To assign an IP address to the farend of a WAN VC, set the farEndAddr object. Note that for theCE150 to route a packet to a WAN VC, one end or the other ofthe VC must have an IP address, because the routing table requiresan IP address for the NextHop object (specified throughthe IPRoute MIB group). For example:CRAFT> set cmiface[1.2.1.61] netmodel=ip ipaddr=10.0.0.1farendaddr=192.168.1.1Policy-to-WAN-VC IP RoutingYou can configure DSL interfaces for policy IP routing to a WANVC. To do so, set the NetModel, IpAddr, NetMask, Encapsulation, and DestPii objects in the DSL port’s cmIface entry. Youmust specify a WAN VC as the DestPii. This means that inboundpackets that are not addressed to the DSL’s own IP addressare always forwarded to the specified DestPii. For policyrouting, the CE150 does not consult any routing table to forwardreceived packets. For example:CRAFT> set cmiface[1.4.1] netmodel=ip ipaddr=192.168.1.1netmask=255.255.255.0 encapsulationtype=rfc1483destpii=1.2.1.61Ethernet and WAN VCs do not support policy routing.$SSHQGL[%FP,IDFH&RQILJXUDWLRQ
