5.3.2 Creating Delivery Documents in a Collective Run
If you want to obtain a complete overview of all deliveries due for shipping and
possibly generate several delivery documents or combine specific orders for a
delivery document, you need the function for creating delivery documents in a
collective run.
The following sections show you how to create delivery documents in a collective
run. First, you must select the orders you would like to process from a number
of orders due for shipping. Second, you can then mark one or more of the orders
and have the corresponding delivery documents created. By way of skilled sorting,
filtering, and totaling, you can even perform a proper delivery planning. Finally,
you must create the delivery documents based on the selected order items.
SAP software provides three transactions for this purpose that have the following
meanings:

Let us first look at the selection of all sales orders due for shipping.

Start Transaction VL10A or select Logistics • Sales and Distribution • Shipping
and Transportation • Outbound Delivery • Create • Collective Processing
of Documents Due for Delivery • Sales Orders. The A in the transaction name
stands for order (based on the German word “Auftrag”). The system now displays
a screen that provides numerous selection options. Figure 5.25 shows this selection
screen.
The shipping point entry is mandatory in order to select the sales orders. The
standard SAP system also suggests today’s and tomorrow’s dates for selection via
the delivery date. However, you can change the suggested date using the field,
CalcRuleDefltDlvCrDt (rule for calculating the default value for the delivery creation
date):
