Goods Issue
In this latter option of performing goods issue in collective processing via background
processing, I have already described the third variant for performing goods
issue posting, that is, via a batch job.
17.1.3 Performing Goods Issue Posting in a Batch Job
The third option of posting goods issues is via a batch job. Start Transaction VL23
or select the following path: Logistics • Sales and Distribution • Shipping and
Transportation • Post Goods Issue • Schedule Background Processing. The
system displays an overview screen of the selection variants you have already created
(see Figure 17.13).

If you want to create a new variant, click on the button. To change an
existing variant, click on the button. When you create a variant, the system
displays a pop-up requesting that you enter a name for your new variant. You
then select the proposed screen or all selection screens. The system then provides
you with the proposed selection screen from Figure 17.8. Section 5.3.3 already
described the subsequent process flow (saving of the batch variant, starting or
scheduling a batch job). The procedure for working with batch jobs is the same as
if you were using this method to create delivery documents.
The batch job performed receives a name. You can use this name to find this job
again in the job overview (see Figure 17.11). This is where you can see whether the
job ran correctly and without errors or whether a log was created or even whether
the job was terminated. Section 17.1.2 already described the job overview.
17.2 Cancelling a Goods Issue
You have the option to completely cancel the goods issue posting for a delivery
document. The function and tasks involved in Cancelling are exactly the same as
