Master Data
Sometimes these problems can only be fixed by rolling back the entire process to
the original sales order.
If you look at the material master record, you will notice that data is not only
required for Sales and Shipping, but also for other departments in your company.
The individual departments are reflected in the corresponding views. For
certain views, the data must be created for each organizational structure, such as
for plants, storage locations, sales organizations, and distribution channels. These
structures are called organizational levels in the material master data. Data that is
identical for all organizational levels and views is called basic data.

Logistics • Logistics Execution • Master Data • Material • Material. Here, you can
choose if you want to create, change, or view the material. In addition, the following
functions are available to you: Display Changes and Flag for Deletion.
Transaction Codes
MM01: Create new material master data (you can also select individual views or only
certain organizational structures here)
MM02: Change existing material master data
MM03: View existing material master data at current point in time
MM19: View existing material master data as it was at a specified point in time
MM06: Mark existing material master data or only certain organizational levels for
deletion
3.1.1 Basic Data in the Material Master
Basic data in the material master is data that is identical across all organizational
units. I will only look at data that is required for shipping and transportation
processes.
For our example from the beverage industry, which we will return to repeatedly in
this book, we I have used a bottle of wheat beer, standard size, contents 0.5 liters.
This material is particularly well-suited to explain the different basic data, which
is often misunderstood.
