7.1.5 Confirmation Relevance and Requirement
If you have flagged an item as picking-relevant and pick with WM, you need a
transport order for picking in WM. The transport order contains the materials
from the delivery document and information on what quantities are to be picked
from which storage bin. Warehouse employees now go to the storage bin and pick
the material. After it is removed, the employees must confirm a removal in the
SAP system. The confirmation states whether the employees have picked the complete
quantity or if they picked a smaller quantity because of storage differences
or damage. During confirmation of the transport order, the SAP system transmits
the picked quantity into the delivery document and confirms it in the delivery
document.
If you do not work with transport orders in WM, confirmation is usually unnecessary.
But if you still want confirmation of the picked quantities even without
WM, you must make an additional setting: confirmation requirement without WM.
You assign the confirmation requirement to a shipping point. Confirmation in the
delivery document then occurs manually or with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
messages from an external stock keeper. You can also control the confirmation
requirement with a user exit. The USEREXIT_LIPS-KOQUI_DETERMINE subroutine
is called in include module MV50AFZ3. You must place your coding into the
subroutine.
