You can use Transaction WE31 to view the structure of individual segments. In our
example, we choose the segment E1EDT05 (see Figure 16.12).
As you can see in the figure, we have reached the lowest level of an IDoc type on
the field level. In spite of IDoc processing, the SAP system is an open system, and
you have the option of modifying the Customizing to create your own segments.
These segments then have to have the prefix “Z” and can be easily incorporated
into the existing process. To process this data, the relevant user exits are used at
the appropriate points in the IDoc processing process.
