17 Goods Issue also have the option to create your own layout for this overview screen and to include more fields from the delivery document. Performing the GI Postings You perform the goods issue postings by selecting the required delivery documents and flagging them using the checkbox at the beginning of the line. In Figure 17.9, I want to perform goods issue for the last two delivery documents. Click on the button. The system displays a pop-up window in which you can enter the actual goods issue date. As a rule, this should be the current date. If you are performing goods issue postings retroactively (because the posting could not be performed on previous days), then this is where you can enter the date the materials really left your plant. This makes sense if you generate statistics to track reliability of your deliveries. You don’t want to enter data that would indicate a delay in delivery that did not actually occur. You can confirm the proposed date or change it. Press the Enter key. The system displays a message on the bottom line of the screen, informing you of how many deliveries have been posted successfully and how many could not be posted. In the event of postings containing errors (the corresponding delivery documents are highlighted in a different color in the overview), click on the icon. The system display a log (see Figure 17.10). Performing GI Posting in the Background If you are sure of your selected delivery documents, you can click on the button in the selection screen (Figure 17.8). Types of Goods Issue Posting 17.1 for the log, as well as the execution time. The system schedules a background job that adopts the selection criteria and performs the goods issue postings. You can start the job overview from the menu via System • Services • Jobs • Job Overview. Select your jobs. The system displays the job that performed the goods issue postings (see Figure 17.11). Figure 17.11 Display of All Background Jobs The column Ln indicates that a log was created. Flag the checkbox in front of this job and click on the button. The system branches to the spool overview. Select your log by flagging the checkbox at the start of the line and displaying the log icon. The system displays the same log, albeit in a different format (see Figure 17.12).
