Other Functions in Delivery Documents
I have created a sales order with a 500-liter barrel and used Transaction VL01N to
generate the delivery document. You can enter the serial number here or later on
with change Transaction VL02N. Proceed as follows to enter the serial number.
Highlight the items in the overview screen and follow menu path Extras • Serial
Numbers. You can then enter the serial number in the pop-up that appears (see
Figure 6.58).
As an example, a previously created number, “101,” is entered in the Serial number
field. To conclude, set a checkmark in the field in front of the serial number.
Confirm the entry with the icon. Click the icon to have the program
branch to display the serial numbers (Transaction IQ03). Finally, save the delivery
document.

You can use the same path to display serial numbers that have already been created.
Before posting a goods issue, you still have an option to change or delete the
serial number. You can delete a serial number that has already been entered by
deleting the entry in the Serial Number field. Confirm the deletion with the
icon. A pop-up asks if you really want to delete the serial number from the delivery
document.
The history of the serial number stores its entry on the delivery document. You can
call the history as follows. Start transaction IQ03 and enter the desired material
