6.4.2 Settings in Customizing
Now that I have introduced you to text determination, I will use an example to
show you what steps you must take to create a new text type.
Text Types
Let us start with the text types. When you must create a new text type, the text
ID should start with a “Z.” In my example, I create a text for loading and name
the text ID ZVLA. Go to Customizing or start Transaction VOTXN directly. Because
I have decided on an additional header text, I select the Header option beneath
Delivery. Select F5 or click the button. Highlight a similar text, such as
text ID “0012 Shipping rules,” and click the icon or F6. Overwrite the text ID
with “ZVLA” and enter “Loading Instructions” beneath ID Description (see Figure
6.20).

Save the new text ID by clicking on the icon. Please note that the text ID is available
across all clients. Every client that runs on your SAP system can use it. Please coordinate
with others to avoid excessive growth of text types.
