6.5.3 Using Export Data in the Delivery Document
The values that are valid here are taken from the foreign trade regulations. You
must enter them manually in the sales order or in the stock transfer order or
allow the system to suggest them based on an algorithm. Foreign trade notification
needs the values. The most important notifications that German companies
must submit monthly to the Federal Statistics Office are Intrastat (notification of
all cross-border goods movements within the European Union), Extrastat (notification
of all cross-border goods movements outside of the European Union), and
KOBRA (notification of weapons and materials that can be used to manufacture
weapons). This information is also printed on the export documents that you give
to forwarding agents and customs authorities. You can also print information on
the invoice about whether or not a material is entitled to preference. The entitlement
might also depend on import controls. You can also print foreign trade data
on additional documents, such as the certificate of origin, export declaration, and
so on. See Chapter 10, Shipping Papers and Documents, for more information on
these documents.
The data that can be assigned to the material is maintained in the material master
(see Figure 6.31). Select the Foreign trade export tab. In this view, you assign the
commercial/import code number. Here, you also find the entries about the origin,
including the country in which the material was produced (the Country of origin
and Region of origin fields). If you require batch management for materials in
your company, you must enter the data at the batch level. With this approach, you
can define the origination data for each batch.
