Other Shipment Functions
This example illustrates that you calculate prices using different levels of the shipment
document, depending on how you agreed upon the prices with your forwarding
agent. The calculation base can also be found in the Condition type. Here,
you define the scale basis (for example, gross weight, net weight, volume, number
of packages, prices per ship-to party, and dangerous goods classes). All possible
condition types are combined via a pricing procedure. Section 13.3.2 provides
more information on this topic.
Try to structure your conditions with your forwarding agents as consistently as possible.
If you have 100 forwarding agents with 100 different agreements and quantity scales,
your settings in the SAP system will become too complex and unmanageable. If you
consider using the SAP system for shipment cost settlement, use this opportunity to
standardize and harmonize your shipment rates.
Shipment Cost Relevance
You cannot settle your shipment until it is set to shipment-relevant. For this purpose,
go to the header and stage level. In the first step, you assign a defined shipment
cost type to the shipment type in Customizing. In the second step, you
specify which objects are set to shipment cost-relevant in the shipment document
(see Figure 13.39). Place a checkmark in the respective Header, Leg, Load, and/or
Bord.cross column to select the relevance.
