The Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games should:<br />

- Reflect the culture of the host nation and at the same timecelebrate<br />

humanity’s rich diversity (Olympic Charter).<br />

- Include traditional sports of the host country in the cultural<br />

program.<br />

- Ensure interaction of the athletes with the activities of the cultural<br />

programs.<br />

- Ensure education programs are focused on youth and are widely<br />

disseminated.<br />

- Ensure wide participation of the citizens of the host country as<br />

well as broad based visiting public.<br />

- Ensure participation of artists from the Olympic Family nations in<br />

the Olympic Games cultural programs.<br />

Recommendation: The NOAs have to become ambassadors of<br />

Olympism on the occasion of the Olympic Games. During the<br />

Olympiad the NOAs could be culturally informed and prepared so that<br />

the Olympic Games could host a “Forum of NOAs” dedicated to<br />

Olympism.<br />

Question 3: Which cultural actions do you suggest in the<br />

framework of the works of the National Olympic Academies?<br />

• Encourage stronger communication links and more active<br />

program exchanges between and among all NOAs<br />

• Develop stronger relations with mass media<br />

• Inform journalists so that media can transfer correct and proper<br />

information and image<br />

• Develop closer relations with the ministries of culture and<br />

education and the governmental structure in general<br />

• Integrate in their program messages of the Paralympic<br />

Movement<br />

• Create student research programs linking schools and students to<br />

other NOAs, art competitions (fine art, sculpture, photo etc) and<br />

exhibitions creating Olympic awards for students who<br />
