During the dark days of the war and the extermination
of the Jews, I stayed for a time at the home
of a Polish woman in Warsaw. My forged documents
listed me as a pure Aryan. One day I heard
a loud knock on the door of the apartment of this
woman and a loud voice ordered, "Open up!"
