All these were viewed by the fanatics as a
deviation from the right path, irresponsibility,
and turning to evil ways, and many times sharp
words were exchanged. Shouts against the "little
Zionists" and their supporters were even heard
in our shtibl, and I was given the name "Yerav'am
ben Navat," as if to say that I was a sinner and was
encouraging others to do the same, on account of
my participation in the youth organizations.
