To this chapter it is appropriate to add the
name of a few people who, while not rabbis,
identified very strongly with matters of Torah.
Around the 1720s there was a dayyan in
Luboml by the name of R. Yakov. He helped
publish Massechet Hulin in Amsterdam in 1728.
The name of another Luboml resident is connected
with the publication of a book 140 years
earlier. His name was Menashe Yakov, son of
Yehuda Levi, and the book is Derech Tov by
Shimon, son of Yitshak Halevi Ishenburg, published
in Cracow, 1590.
