In reference to the destruction of the Jews
from Volhynia, the Russian writer Wladimirek
Badanow states that from 1649 to 1652, during
the period of the Chmielnicki uprising, about 90
percent of the local Jewry was killed, among them
the residents of Luboml.
In almost all sources where the events of 1648

In TzukHa-Itim by Meyer Szeberszin, Luboml
is not specifically mentioned. The author talks
about Kremenitz, Lutsk, Ludmir, Dubno, and
Belz. Yet, at the same time, he mentions that "in
northern Chelm and the entire region Jews were
killed."
It is clear that "northern Chelm and the entire
region" includes Luboml, which throughout its
