Since the “transition“process started in 2001, the biggest problem of the Serbian leftist communitywasn't the fact that it was small, weak, outnumbered by Nazisand so on, but that it was incompetent and ignorant about localproblems. Lots of energy was wasted on activities that had little to dowith the actual problems of Serbian workers in “transition.“ And thoseproblems were huge – too huge not to be seen and confronted. For thatreason we can say now that it was almost lucky that most of the activitiesof the leftist collectives in the past decade went virtually unnoticedby the broad public. It was pretty embarrassing to have some self-proclaimedanarcho-syndicalist leaders preaching against privatizationfrom the ideological point of view, but without a clue about the localcontext, as if they just fell in from another world. For years we werepractically the only collective that was working with the actual peopleon the ground in strikes.
