family. Before <strong>the</strong> revolution he was a trader. He was disenfranchised. On<br />

March 8, 1931 he was arrested for being “a member <strong>of</strong> a counterrevolutionary<br />

monarchist organization”, and on July 9 was sentenced to ten<br />

years in <strong>the</strong> camps. Nothing more is known about him.<br />

Ivan Nikitich Kapitonov was born in 1895 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Galactionovo,<br />

Chistopol uyezd into a peasant family. He worked in <strong>the</strong> fields. On March 8,<br />

1931 he was arrested for being “a member <strong>of</strong> a counter-revolutionary<br />

monarchist organization”, and on July 9 was sentenced to five years in <strong>the</strong><br />

camps. Nothing more is known about him.<br />

Michael Yefimovich Saparin was born in 1894 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Ostolopovo, Alexeyevsky uyezd into a peasant family. He owned a dressmaking<br />

workshop, and was president <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> church council. On March 8, 1931<br />

he was arrested for being “a member <strong>of</strong> a counter-revolutionary monarchist<br />

organization”, and on July 9 was sentenced to five years in <strong>the</strong> camps.<br />

Nothing more is known about him.<br />

Nicephorus Vasilyevich Fadeyev was born in 1881 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Ostolopovo, Alexeyevsky uyezd into a peasant family. He went to <strong>the</strong> village<br />

school and was a church reader. A free peasant, in 1930 he was subjected to<br />

arrest for refusing to fulfil bread deliveries. On March 7, 1931 he was arrested<br />

for being “a member <strong>of</strong> a counter-revolutionary monarchist organization”,<br />

and on July 9 was sentenced to five years in <strong>the</strong> camps. Nothing more is<br />

known about him.<br />

Ivan Ivanovich Dobryakov was born in 1876 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Ostolopovo,<br />

Alexeyevsky uyezd into a peasant family. He was a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> church<br />

council. In 1929 he was arrested and sentenced to six months’ hard labour. On<br />

March 10, 1931 he was arrested for being “a member <strong>of</strong> a counterrevolutionary<br />

monarchist organization”, and on July 9 was sentenced to<br />

death. On July 10 he was shot.<br />

Michael Tr<strong>of</strong>imovich Merkulov was born in 1898 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Ostolopovo, Alexeyevsky uyezd into <strong>the</strong> family <strong>of</strong> a forestry industrialist.<br />

From 1914 to 1920 he served in <strong>the</strong> tsarist, and <strong>the</strong>n in <strong>the</strong> Red armies. Then<br />

he served in <strong>the</strong> command unit <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Kazan Kremlin. From 1920 he worked<br />

as a free peasant. On March 8, 1931 he was arrested for being “a member <strong>of</strong> a<br />

counter-revolutionary monarchist organization”, and on July 9 was sentenced<br />

to ten years in <strong>the</strong> camps. His family was exiled to <strong>the</strong> north. Nothing more is<br />

known about him.<br />
