Nun Alexandra (Polikarpovna Tolstikova) was born in 1883 in <strong>the</strong> village<br />

<strong>of</strong> Chulki, Arbazh uyezd, Vyatka province into a peasant family. In <strong>the</strong> 1930s<br />

he was living in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Karavannoye, Tuzhim region, and serving as a<br />

reader in <strong>the</strong> local church. On May 21, 1934 she was arrested and accused <strong>of</strong><br />

“counter-revolutionary activity”. On August 14 she was released on account<br />

<strong>of</strong> her age, and <strong>the</strong> case was shelved because <strong>of</strong> lack <strong>of</strong> evidence. She was<br />

without fixed occupation or domicile. On July 23, 1943 she was arrested for<br />

being “a participant in a counter-revolutionary church-monarchist<br />

organization, <strong>the</strong> True <strong>Orthodox</strong> Church”, and on August 18 was sentenced<br />

to ten years in <strong>the</strong> camps and sent to a camp. Nothing more is known about<br />

her.<br />

Archimandrite Seraphim, in <strong>the</strong> world Ivan Vasilyevich Cherstvov, was<br />

arrested and condemned many times. From 1920 he was in Tashkent, where<br />

he organized secret services with a group <strong>of</strong> nuns. In 1925 he was arrested for<br />

being “<strong>the</strong> leader <strong>of</strong> a counter-revolutionary monarchist organization <strong>of</strong><br />

churchpeople”, and was sentenced to three years in <strong>the</strong> camps and sent to<br />

Solovki. In 1928 he was released and exiled to Mari province. In <strong>the</strong> 1940s he<br />

went underground. In 1944 he was arrested and sentenced to ten years in <strong>the</strong><br />

camps and sent to a camp. Nothing more is known about him.<br />

Nun Anastasia (Iosifovna Krasnova) was born in 1883 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Maliye Kosheli, Chuvashia, and received an elementary education. In <strong>the</strong><br />

1940s she was living in Yoshkar-Ola, and took part in secret services. On<br />

August 31, 1945 she was arrested for being “a participant in <strong>the</strong> anti-Soviet<br />

underground <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> True <strong>Orthodox</strong> Church”, and was sentenced to ten years<br />

in <strong>the</strong> camps and sent to a camp. Nothing more is known about her.<br />

Ca<strong>the</strong>rine Iosifovna Baranova was born in 1893 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Khmelevo, Salobelyaksk uyezd, Vyatka province. She lived as a free peasant<br />

in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Krayevo, Orshansk region. She took part in secret services.<br />

On September 1, 1945 she was arrested for being “a participant in <strong>the</strong> anti-<br />

Soviet underground <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> True <strong>Orthodox</strong> Church, and was sentenced to ten<br />

years in <strong>the</strong> camps and sent to a camp. Nothing more is known about her.<br />
