Priest Thomas Konstantinovich Artemyev was born in 1883 and served in<br />

<strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Mordovskoye Adelyakovo, Samara province. He used to give<br />

sermons in which he said that now <strong>the</strong> <strong>Orthodox</strong> Church was being<br />

persecuted, but it was necessary to be patient, for it would come to an end<br />

soon. He said that <strong>the</strong> collective form was violence against <strong>the</strong> peasants and<br />

<strong>the</strong> renunciation <strong>of</strong> <strong>Orthodox</strong>y. After his sermon three hundred families left<br />

<strong>the</strong> collective farm. Fr. Thomas asked his parishioners to help him pay his<br />

taxes. “O<strong>the</strong>rwise,” he said, “<strong>the</strong> church <strong>of</strong> God will be closed.” In 1930 he was<br />

sentenced to death in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Sosnovka, Stalinsky region, Samara<br />

province. On January 1, 1931 he was shot.<br />

Priest Michael Mikhailovich Kaminsky was born in 1884 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Vladimirovka, Samara province. On March 1, 1931, while serving in <strong>the</strong> village<br />

<strong>of</strong> K.-Umet, Sergievsky region, Samara district, he was arrested and sentenced<br />

to three years in <strong>the</strong> camps. Nothing more is known about him.<br />

Nun Agatha (Fyodorovna Kalinina) was born in 1887 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> N.<br />

Burasy, Saratov province. On February 22, 1931 she was arrested in Saratov,<br />

and on May 15 was sentenced to three years’ exile to <strong>the</strong> north. Nothing more<br />

is known about her.<br />

Demetrius Ivanovich Kamenkov was born in 1871 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Ogarevka, Atkarsky region, Saratov province, and was a church warden. On<br />

July 13, 1930 he was arrested in Ogarevka for creating a counter-revolutionary<br />

organization and conducting anti-Soviet agitation among <strong>the</strong> believers. On<br />

March 28, 1931 he was sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment. Nothing more is<br />

known about him.<br />

Monk Hilarion (Porfiryevich Kalinin) was born in 1866 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Bolezino, Vyatka province, and lived in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Kinel-Cherkassy, Samara<br />

district. There, on July 13, 1931, he was arrested, and sentenced to three years<br />

in <strong>the</strong> camps. Nothing more is known about him.<br />
