Priest Constantine Ivanovich Zolotnitsky was serving in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Skachikha, Kirsanovsky uyezd, Tambov province. In July, 1929 he was<br />

arrested for non-payment <strong>of</strong> taxes and expelled from his house with his<br />

family. For some days <strong>the</strong>y lived in <strong>the</strong> church courtyard. Then <strong>the</strong> authorities<br />

<strong>of</strong>fered him a flat. A little later <strong>the</strong> village soviet summoned him and detained<br />

him for five hours. A crowd ga<strong>the</strong>r and demanded his release. They let him<br />

go, but <strong>the</strong>n arrested him again. He was condemned. Nothing more is known<br />

about him.<br />

The clergyman Michael Andreyevich Derzhavin was born in 1894 in <strong>the</strong><br />

village <strong>of</strong> Aksel, Temnikovsky region, Mordovia. On November 4, 1929 he<br />

was sentenced to five years in <strong>the</strong> camps in accordance with article 58-10.<br />

Nothing more is known about him.<br />

The clergyman Alexis Ivanovich Yezhikov was born in 1890 in <strong>the</strong> village<br />

<strong>of</strong> Russkiye Naimany, Mordovia, and served in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Parakino,<br />

Bolsheberezinkovsky region. On November 21, 1929 he was sentenced to five<br />

years’ imprisonment in accordance with article 58-10. Nothing more is known<br />

about him.<br />

Priest Stepan Andreyevich Victorov was born in 1893 in Voronezh<br />

province, <strong>the</strong> son <strong>of</strong> a medical assistant. In 1921 he married Raisa Dmitrievna<br />

Maksutova, <strong>the</strong> daughter <strong>of</strong> a priest, Fr. Demetrius Ivanovich Maksutov. They<br />

had two sons. He served in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Promzino, Tambov province. In<br />

August, 1929 he was arrested and cast into <strong>the</strong> prison in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Anayevo, Zubovopolyansky region, Mordovia. After <strong>the</strong> arrest <strong>of</strong> Fr. Stefan,<br />

his family moved to <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Podassy, where Raisa’s fa<strong>the</strong>r served.<br />

However, one frosty night in January, 1930, he, Raisa and <strong>the</strong> two children<br />

were thrown out into <strong>the</strong> cold with only <strong>the</strong> clo<strong>the</strong>s <strong>the</strong>y were standing in. But<br />

kind parishioners did not allow <strong>the</strong> family to perish from cold and hunger,<br />

and hid Fr. Demetrius from <strong>the</strong> OGPU. Fr. Stepan, meanwhile was sentenced<br />

to death and shot in <strong>the</strong> prison in Anayevo. In December, 1929, his fa<strong>the</strong>r, not<br />

bearing <strong>the</strong> loss <strong>of</strong> his son, also died.<br />

<strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Drakino, Torbeyevsky region, Mordovia. On December 21, 1929<br />
