May 30, 1922 he was arrested and condemned for “anti-Soviet agitation”, and<br />

sentenced to five years’ imprisonment. On December 28 a tribunal released<br />

him because <strong>of</strong> mental illness.<br />

Abbess (?) Julia (Alexandrovna Lavrovskaya) was born in 1864 in Vyatka.<br />

She was <strong>the</strong> superior <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> St. Tryphon monastery and president <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> St.<br />

Tryphon religious community. On August 22, 1923 she was arrested by <strong>the</strong><br />

NKVD and on December 14 was sentenced to three years’ exile in Zyryansk<br />

region for “resistance to <strong>the</strong> handover <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> property <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> St. Tryphon<br />

monastery” to <strong>the</strong> Bolsheviks.<br />

Priest Nicholas Ivanovich Lyubimov served in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Savali,<br />

Vyatka province. In October, 1920 he was arrested in <strong>the</strong> church after <strong>the</strong><br />

liturgy. He was taken away without being allowed to say goodbye to his<br />

family. A few days later, without being tried, he was shot. His wife was not<br />

allowed to bury him. In 1925 she died <strong>of</strong> hunger and cold, leaving five<br />

children orphans.<br />

Archimandrite Vladimir Nikolayevich Pusset was born in 1895 in<br />

Artinsky factory, Artinsky region, Sverdlovsk province. He was serving in <strong>the</strong><br />

St. Seraphim church in Vyatka when, on November 13, 1925, he was<br />

sentenced in accordance with articles 69, 121 and 122 to three years’ exile to<br />

Zyryansk region. Nothing more is known about him.<br />

Archimandrite Herman (Antonovich Rykov) was born in 1871 in <strong>the</strong><br />

village <strong>of</strong> Makanetskaya, Orlovsky uyezd, Perm province. He was abbot <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Bolychkin monastery in Nolinsk uyezd. In <strong>the</strong> summer <strong>of</strong> 1925 he was<br />

arrested, and on November 13 was sentenced to three years’ exile and sent to<br />

Zyryansk district. Nothing more is known about him.<br />

Igumen Bartholomew (Ivanovich Poptsov) was born in 1860 in <strong>the</strong> city <strong>of</strong><br />

Sovyetsk, Vyatka province, and was serving in <strong>the</strong> city <strong>of</strong> Orlov. On<br />

November 13, 1925 he was arrested by <strong>the</strong> OGPU and condemned in<br />

accordance with articles 69 and 121 to three years’ exile to Zyryansk region.<br />

Monk Hilarion (Ivanovich Melnikov) was born in 1874 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Skorodskoye, Tula province, and struggled in <strong>the</strong> Bolyachinsky monastery in<br />

<strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Bolyachkinskaya, Nolinsk uyezd, Sunskaya volost, Vyatka<br />

province. In <strong>the</strong> summer <strong>of</strong> 1925 he was arrested, and on November 13 in<br />

accordance with articles 69 and 121 he was sentenced to three years’ exile and<br />
