Hieromonk Hilarion, in <strong>the</strong> world Ivan Alexeyevich Ovinov. He was born<br />

in 1880 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong> Sukhaya Rechka, Buzuluk uyezd, Orenburg province.<br />

In 1907 he was tonsured, and was later ordained to <strong>the</strong> priesthood, serving in a<br />

monastery in Samara province. From 1910 he was serving in <strong>the</strong> Nikolayevsky<br />

monastery in Samara, from 1917 – in a village parish, from 1918 – again in <strong>the</strong><br />

Nikolayevsky monastery, and from 1920 was spiritual fa<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Iveron<br />

women’s monastery. After its closure he continued serving in its church. In<br />

1930 he was arrested for being “a participant in <strong>the</strong> Samara branch <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

counter-revolutionary monarchist church organization, <strong>the</strong> True <strong>Orthodox</strong><br />

Church”, and was sentenced to three years’ exile and was sent to <strong>the</strong> north. In<br />

<strong>the</strong> middle <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 1930s, after his release from exile, he returned to Samara. On<br />

September 29, 1937 he was arrested, and on December 21 was sentenced to<br />

death. On January 16, 1938 he was shot.<br />

Priest Michael Dmitrievich Adushev. He was born in 1882 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Baitermish, Buguruslan uyezd, Samara province. In <strong>the</strong> 1920s he was serving<br />

in his native village. On February 12, 1930 he was arrested for being “a<br />

participant in <strong>the</strong> Samara branch <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> counter-revolutionary monarchist<br />

church organization, <strong>the</strong> True <strong>Orthodox</strong> Church”, and on May 13 was<br />

sentenced to ten years in <strong>the</strong> camps and sent to a camp in Kotlas, Arkhangelsk<br />

province. Nothing more is known about him.<br />

Priest Alexander Fyodorovich Antonov. He was born in <strong>the</strong> 1880s in <strong>the</strong><br />

village <strong>of</strong> Perekopnoye, Samara province, and served in <strong>the</strong> church <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

village <strong>of</strong> Kvasnikovo. On December 20, 1930 he was arrested for being “a<br />

participant in <strong>the</strong> Samara branch <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> counter-revolutionary monarchist<br />

church organization, <strong>the</strong> True <strong>Orthodox</strong> Church”, and on August 31, 1931 was<br />

sentenced to ten years in <strong>the</strong> camps and sent to a camp. On October 31, 1937 he<br />

was arrested again. On December 9 he was sentenced to death, and on<br />

December 11 he was shot.<br />

Priest Xenophon Alexandrovich Arkhangelsky. He was born in 1878 in <strong>the</strong><br />

village <strong>of</strong> Kurumoch, Samara province, and served in <strong>the</strong> ca<strong>the</strong>dral church <strong>of</strong><br />

Samara. On February 24, 1923 he was arrested, but on August 3 he was<br />

released and his case was shelved because <strong>of</strong> lack <strong>of</strong> evidence <strong>of</strong> a crime. He<br />

<strong>the</strong>n served in <strong>the</strong> church <strong>of</strong> SS. Peter and Paul. On December 11, 1928 he was<br />

arrested again, and on March 29 he was released but forbidden to live in six<br />

cities for three years. In 1931 he returned to Samara, and on December 3 he<br />

was arrested for being “a participant in <strong>the</strong> Samara branch <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> counterrevolutionary<br />

monarchist church organization, <strong>the</strong> True <strong>Orthodox</strong> Church”.<br />

On April 13, 1932 he was sentenced to ten years in <strong>the</strong> camps and was sent to a<br />

camp, where he died.<br />
