10, 58-11 and 59-7 to ten years in <strong>the</strong> camps. Nothing more is known about<br />

him.<br />

Metrophanes Vasilyevich Tonkikh. He was born in 1880 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Zobovo, Sharlyksky region. He was married with a son and two daughters.<br />

On October 29, 1930 he was arrested and cast into <strong>the</strong> Domzak in Orenburg.<br />

He was accused <strong>of</strong> being “a member <strong>of</strong> a counter-revolutionary organization,<br />

‘The Trues’, participating in illegal meetings, trying to tear down <strong>the</strong> portrait<br />

<strong>of</strong> Lenin and threatening <strong>the</strong> communists”. In accordance with articles 58-10,<br />

58-11 and 59-7, he was sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out on<br />

April 5, 1931 at 4.25 a.m.<br />

Tryphon Efimovich Nesterenko. He was born in 1889 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Pokrovka, Kuibyshev province into a peasant family. On January 1, 1931 he<br />

was arrested in Samara and cast into <strong>the</strong> Samara DPZ. He was convicted by<br />

<strong>the</strong> OGPU <strong>of</strong> “participation in <strong>the</strong> counter-revolutionary church organization,<br />

‘The Trues [True <strong>Orthodox</strong> Christians?]’, was a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Samaran cell <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> organization, and participated in illegal ga<strong>the</strong>rings”. In accordance with<br />

articles 58-10 and 58-11, he was sentenced to five years in <strong>the</strong> camps. On<br />

returning from exile in 1937, he worked as a carpenter in Kuibyshev. He was<br />

arrested on a Church-related charge and shot towards <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 1930s.<br />

Basil Mironovich Tikhonov. He was born in 1882 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Belozerki, Kashirinsky region. He took part in <strong>the</strong> First World War. He was<br />

married. In 1930 he was arrested with his bro<strong>the</strong>r, Monk Andrew, and cast<br />

into Orenburg Domzak. However, he was released under guard. Nothing<br />

more is known about him.<br />

Nicetas Yermolayevich Tikhonov. He was born in 1866 in Novo-Spassk,<br />

Pokrovsky region into a peasant family. He was married with two daughters.<br />

On December 8, 1930 he was arrested and cast into Orenburg Domzak. He was<br />

sentenced to five years in <strong>the</strong> camps, commuted to exile to <strong>the</strong> north for <strong>the</strong><br />

same period. Nothing more is known about him.<br />

Ivan Efimovich Boriskin. He was born on January 11, 1886 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Bogorodskoye, Sharlyksky region. He had a wife (born 1895), four sons and a<br />

daughter. On November 10, 1930 he was arrested, and on January 13, 1931 was<br />

cast into Orenburg Domzak. He was sentenced to five years in <strong>the</strong> camps in<br />

accordance with articles 58-10, 58-11 and 59-7. Nothing more is known about<br />

him.<br />

James Nikiforovich Borodin. He was born in October, 1896 in <strong>the</strong> village <strong>of</strong><br />

Putyatino, Sharlyksky region. He had a wife (born 1896) and three sons. On<br />

October 29, 1930 he was arrested and cast into Orenburg Domzak. He was<br />

convicted <strong>of</strong> being “a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> counter-revolutionary organization, ‘The<br />
