The only aspect which, according to the men, is changing for the better more
emphatically than earlier is equality between the genders. And in the case of
the women, by far the greatest change in attitude has been in that aspect. In
1998, they regarded it very sceptically, the greater part of Lithuania's female
workers seeing the trend as negative. Currently, the situation is the opposite:
the majority of the women consider the trend positive. Now, the men's and the
women's opinions on this are nearly the same.
The difference in balance value between the women's gender equality trend
evaluations in the two different years is as much as 25 per cent. By contrast,
the women view the development in meaningfulness of working more negatively
than before.
DIFFERENT AGE GROUPS
There are quite big differences between the various age groups in Lithuania.
The under-30s stand out the most clearly from the rest by virtue of their positive
opinions. However, it is true of Lithuania, too, that scepticism toward
changes increases with age.
