Compared with the situation of three years ago, the under-30s conceive the changes in working life as partly more negative and partly more positive than before. Gender equality and management methods have been evaluated more positively. As to the handling of environmental issues at the workplace, the trend has been regarded more sceptically now than in 1998. The attitude of those aged 30-49 has changed a great deal, and the direction has been strongly negative. Only the development in equality between men and women is held to be considerably more favourable than earlier. The getting of information on the aims of working life has remained at the same level of assessment, and the trends in all the other factors being evaluated have definitely more often been seen as unfavourable. The negativity of Lithuania's
244 trend expectations can indeed be traced to this very group, of prime working age. The views of the oldest age group regarding changes in working life are close to those of three years back. The most crucial difference is that the trend in gender equality is clearly seen as more positive than before. LITHUANIAN NATIONALS AND OTHERS There is a very definite gap in attitude to working life trends between the Lithuanian nationals and those of other nationalities. The Lithuanian nationals take a noticeably more favourable view than the rest. With the exception of gender equality issues, their attitude has become a little more negative compared with the situation of three years ago. This change has been relatively small, however.
