Field Quality Control: 1. Perform tests and inspections and prepare test reports. a. Test Instruments: Use instruments that comply with UL 1436. b. Test Instrument for Convenience Receptacles: Digital wiring analyzer with digital readout or illuminated LED indicators of measurement. 2. Tests for Convenience Receptacles: a. Line Voltage: Acceptable range is 105 to 132 V. b. Percent Voltage Drop under 15-A Load: A value of 6 percent or higher is not acceptable. c. Ground Impedance: Values of up to 2 ohms are acceptable. d. GFCI Trip: Test for tripping values specified in UL 1436 and UL 943. e. Using the test plug, verify that the device and its outlet box are securely mounted. f. The tests shall be diagnostic, indicating damaged conductors, high resistance at the circuit breaker, poor connections, inadequate fault current path, defective devices, or similar problems. Correct circuit conditions, remove malfunctioning units and replace with new ones, and retest as specified above. 3. Section Includes: 1. Fusible switches. 2. Enclosures. 1.2 DEFINITIONS A. NC: Normally closed. B. NO: Normally open. C. SPDT: Single pole, double throw. 1.3 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS A. Seismic Performance: Enclosed switches and circuit breakers shall withstand the effects of earthquake motions determined according to ASCE/SEI 7. 1. The term "withstand" means "the unit will remain in place without separation of any parts from the device when subjected to the seismic forces specified and the unit will be fully operational after the seismic event." 1.4 ACTION SUBMITTALS A. Product Data: For each type of enclosed switch, circuit breaker, accessory, and component indicated. B. Shop Drawings: For enclosed switches and circuit breakers.
