Considerations:<br />

• Booth space can be very expensive.<br />

• You will need to design and purchase or build an exhibit.<br />

• Be sure to have something that will encourage people to come to your booth,<br />

something interactive or something you can give away.<br />

• Attend potential trade shows before registering for a booth. Each one will be<br />

different.<br />

Sponsorships You can sponsor a conference or an event at a conference and have<br />

your name placed in the pro<strong>gr</strong>am or on the backdrop of the stage. Conference<br />

planners are frequently looking for someone to sponsor breaks, entertainment, or<br />

keynote speakers. We have sponsored the briefcases for two conferences. The first<br />

was as a gift to the speakers. For the second it was for all attendees. In both cases<br />

we had our logo and the association’s logo embroidered on the cases. You could<br />

also sponsor community events, a youth sports team, races, or fund raisers.<br />

Considerations:<br />

• Price can be all over, from a couple hundred dollars to several thousand, depending<br />

on the event and the number of attendees.<br />

• If you are required to provide something, like bags for attendees, be sure they<br />

are the highest quality you can afford.<br />

• Sponsor events that will provide you with the kind of visibility you want.<br />

• If the sponsorship is too costly, find another firm to partner with you.<br />

Radio Talk shows, radio pro<strong>gr</strong>ams, or radio ads are all possible. If you have just<br />

written a book or released some new information, you should be able to schedule<br />

time on one of your local talk radio shows. You could also host your own radio<br />

pro<strong>gr</strong>am. Either of these gives you instant credibility and the ability to reach a very<br />

large audience.<br />
