Second, keep yourself in front of your clients with permanent, practical year-
end gifts. We always look for something unique, something special. We have
gained a reputation for creative gifts. For example, one year we sent miniature
mugs filled with gold paper clips. They were high quality, useful, and had our
logo sitting on everyone’s desk every day. In 2001 we sent yo-yos that lit up and
our card read, “It’s been a year of ups and downs, but we want to help light up
when Garland joined our firm, we sent a miniature chalkboard and chalk
with the message, “Chalk another one up for ebb associates. . . .”
done. Select a few of these and do them now—even if you have not completed your
marketing plan. Remember: “The time to market is all the time.”
Ten Ideas to Market on a Shoestring Budget
2. Call a dormant client and renew the relationship.
3. Slip an envelope stuffer in with your invoice to mention a new service or
product.
4. Write a press release for your local newspaper.
