A studyundertaken by the Building Economic Development Committee (1974) using datareceived for office building projects found that 46% of projects had some form ofdefect (described as minor or major on page 23) at completion. Discrete projectswithin this case study produce similar results, as 38% recorded a defect atcompletion.
