Thesis Keith Gale 201311.10 Summary of review of model and research validationThis chapter presents evidence of validation of each group hypotheses byexamination of construct validity, verification, causality and the external interfaces.Convergence is provided by triangulation of quantitative data from project outcomesby qualitative data and statements from participants supporting such outcomes.Examination of project characteristics reveals verification of results that can begeneralised to other projects working to the same conditions and operationalmethods. The procurement performance model (a priori) was tested through application of sixhypotheses based upon an operational and sociological construct. Results fromoperational (performance measures) and sociological (behaviour factors) constructshave allowed a revaluation of the model. Proposed operational constructs behave asanticipated and provide drivers toward positive performance. Analysis of behaviourfactors provided a focus upon the most significant behaviours – the priori modelidentified ten from published research – whereas the ‘a posteriori’ model recognisesthree behaviours within an underlying factor of duration.Publication of results has provided convergence of the research findings withpublished research and academic validation of accepted papers. In summary, it isargued that the strength of evidence supports both posteriori performance model andresearch validation.272
