Making sure they’ve got a really good leading period. The projectsthat I’ve been involved with, I’ve seen that if it’s been a bit rush job and kind of …‘oh crikey quick we start in two weeks time lets get a pre start meeting organised’,that kind of the one which it all gets rushed and everything gets messed up. So Ithink good programming is the key to a good start to a good project.Q7 In your view, what are the drivers that encourage suppliers to finish on time?I think, err, the answer is also in relation to question 6. Good programming, somaking sure that they started on time so they’ve had plenty of time to mobilise andorganise any specialist type of contractors or suppliers which they might need for thejob; and also, making sure that from a clients point of view that change is minimisedthroughout the job. So the documents that you’re putting in your appendix, that’s thefull scheme, that’s what’s going to get.. that’s what should ensure them finishing ontime. If you, and the client keep changing the scheme plan as you go through,obviously there are going to be compensation events which lead to it, but there’s aperception of finishing with some of it. Once you start with having multiplecompensation events because there scope for it, I think that’s where they will end upfinishing over time because of their inability to plan their work effectively andefficiently387
