Thesis Keith Gale 2013Applying conclusions made by Cho et al (2009) and Favie and Maas (2008) to thisresearch, nine out of ten project characteristics contained in this case study do notproduce variables that affect performance results. A single variable that may havesuch effect is the financial contract value size of a project. In order to ascertainwhether project value influences outcomes, independent samples t-tests areundertaken at two stages. Stage One uses data from all 164 projects whilst Stage Twomatches 60 discrete projects with 60 framework projects according to closestcontract value. Stage Two projects were closely matched for size according tocontract value. 60 discrete projects of a total value of £30,431,702.52 (mean =£507,195.04) with 60 framework projects of a total value of £16,403,695.97 (mean =£273,394.93) were selected for analysis.
