Why do you think this is?Well, I’m certain that people are aware that they are being measured in every wayand there’s going to be a greater effort to perform well in those areas. You know, Ido believe in policing and discipline and err you know, in my mind any kind ofpolicing will result in performances which are perfected by the policing which in thiscase is the KPI’s.In your view does the use of KPI’s help the parties gain better performance acrossprojects and why is that?Yes. And I think, you know, the analysis of the data and how that is used, is adifficult area. I mean yes, people are trying their best because they know they arebeing measured, and they’re improving their efforts because they know they arebeing measured, but using the data. It can be used wrongly and it can create thewrong impressions and err… its just difficult because data is black and white and itdoesn’t always paint the right picture.Q14 In your opinion, is the collection of key performance data worthwhile? Is itdemanding?Umm, personally I don’t see that its very demanding and a lot of trouble but Iappreciate that people do leave it till the last minute very often and so that wouldtend to point to the fact that perhaps it is difficult. Err, I’m not really accustomedwith having to collect data. When I was site agent on frameworks, the KPI’s hadn’tbeen invented. Err, and at higher levels I haven’t really been involved much inproducing the data.Do you think that it’s worthwhile?425
