City of McAllen's Location
in Relation to the State of Texas
The City of McAllen lies in the southern region of the
State in an area referred to as "The Rio Grande Valley". It
is the largest City of the County of Hidalgo. The City was
incorporated on February 20, 1911, and its Charter was
adopted on January 31, 1927. Its form of government is
Home Rule, i.e., Mayor/Commission-City Manager.
