The grainyblack and white film evokes a forgotten world. The meticulouscomposition of the shots which show prison life without beingjudgemental and the remarkable soundtrack, which stands alone,inject the charged environment with an almost mystical quality.The filmmaker has opted for an instinctive, sensual approach withhardly any voice-over, or interviews. He is the external witness ofa reality which has always been codified.
