Biografia
Nato a Nanjing, dopo essersi laureato all’Accademia di
Cinema di Pechino, ha debuttato nel 1990 con Mama. I suoi
film Beijing Bastard, Sons, East Palace West Palace, hanno
vinto premi in vari festival. È il più importante rappresentante
della sesta generazione cinese di registi.
Biography
Born in Nanjing, after graduating from the Beijing Film Academy,
he debuted in 1990 with Mama. His films Beijing
Bastard, Sons and East Palace West Palace have won awards
at various festivals. He is the most important representative of
the sixth generation of Chinese directors.

UNDER THE EAVES
Akihiko vive in un vecchio appartamento suonando la chitarra
e cantando le sue canzoni in strada, ma non è esattamente
la vita che sognava. Akihiko ha anche una ragazza
che, però, non si decide a mettersi alle spalle la storia con
il suo ex fidanzato. Al piano di sopra vive uno strano individuo
che irromperà nella vita di Akihiko.

Biografia
Nato in Giappone nel 1964, ha debuttato come aiuto regista.
Nel 2000 il suo film Eureka ha ricevuto grandi elogi.
Durante l’ultimo festival di Cannes (“Un Certain Regard”)
ha presentato il suo ultimo film, Eli, Eli, Lema Sabachtani.
Akihiko lives in an old apartment, plays his guitar and sings his
songs on the streets, but it is not exactly the life he envisioned for
himself. Akihiko also has a girlfriend who, however, cannot make
up her mind to put the relationship with her ex-boyfriend behind
her. Above him lives a strange individual who will disrupt Akihiko’s
life.

Biography
Born in Japan in 1964, he debuted as an assistant director. In
2000, his film Eureka received many accolades. During the
2004 Cannes Festival, his last feature, Eli, Eli, Lema Sabachtani,
was screened in the Un Certain Regard Section.
