To remove all error messages about bad IP source addresses on the cable interfaces from the error log<br />

buffer, use the clear cable logging badipsource command in Privileged EXEC mode.<br />

Usage <strong>Guide</strong>lines The cable logging badipsource command creates a circular buffer that contains the BADIPSOURCE<br />

error messages that the <strong>Cisco</strong> CMTS generates when it discovers a CM or CPE device using an<br />

unauthorized IP address. When this buffer becomes full, the oldest messages are deleted to make room<br />

for newer messages.<br />

When you have viewed all of the error messages in the current buffer, use the clear cable logging<br />

badipsource command to clear out the buffer to make room for newer messages.<br />

Examples The following example shows how to clear the log buffer that contains the bad IP source address error<br />

messages:<br />

Router# show cable logging summary<br />

Used buffer size (bytes) : 36968<br />
